31st edition of the long-running festival on Mindungsan, a bald-topped mountain covered in silver grass, with hiking, a song contest and Arirang performances.

Getting there: Train to Mindungsan Station (Taebaek Line) or intercity bus to Jeongseon; the county says the festival-area shuttle has stopped and vehicles are barred from Balgudeok during the festival.
